The straightforward thinking behind this multi-fuel stove's design is as reassuring as its classic aesthetic. With a 90-pound hopper, the Auburn is a product of utility. A larger fuel capacity means you’ll spend less time refueling. Convenience paired with solid construction—that’s the Auburn advantage.
The St Croix Auburn corn stove is the bigger brother of the Lancaster corn stove. The Lancaster stove was so popular that St Croix decided to put it into a bigger body, and so increase the hopper and ash pan capacity.
The Auburn is a traditional american step top design stove that stands on a pedestal and has a flat viewing window. Rated to heat 1,800 square feet, it is capable of 40,000 btu. and can burn for fifty three hours on the low heat setting without re-filling
The heat exchanger is made from stainless steel to ensure long life, and the ash pan is large enough to only need emptying weekly.
Using the optional pellet conversion kit, the St Croix Auburn can be converted to burn wood pellets. As standard, this stove is capable of burning corn, distiller's grain pellets, cherry pits, wheat and rye.
The control board slides out from the back of the stove when needed, normally it's hidden. It has some useful diagnostic features to tell you whether or not all's well with the stove.
